Part of the Ziegler collection, this 238 cm x 172 cm rectangular rug is hand-knotted from 100% hand spun wool with a thin pile and neat white fringe at the ends. The composition features a panelled centre composed of vertical bands in deep crimson, slate blue, dusty mauve, forest green, and soft cream, each filled with stylised botanical motifs, palmettes, and geometric vine-work. Enclosing the central field is a wide cream and taupe border accented with serrated triangular accents and trailing floral vines, bordered by a solid ruby red outer edge.
Place this piece in a living room beneath a mid-century walnut coffee table, or use it to define an intimate seating zone alongside leather armchairs. It works equally well under a wooden dining table or at the centre of a bedroom or home office.
