Vintage Over-Dyed Rugs
Over-dyed rugs are fashionable and sustainable way to add colour and texture to your interiors. In recent years, over-dyed Persian rugs have become an affordable way to bring a touch of style and class to UK homes. The technique for over-dying rugs came from a desire to breathe new life into beautiful, handmade Turkish rugs. The trend soon caught on and now over-dyed rugs can be found in many different designs and materials.
Over-dyed vintage rugs, sometimes referred to as distressed rugs, include area rugs and runners that were made between the 1920' to 1970's. These softly faded and worn rugs are sometimes stripped of colour or re-dyed in bright, solid colours to create the timeless and colourful effect. Over-dyed area rugs settle into living rooms and runners for hallways appearing as they're a part of the family history. The vibrant tones, yet softly worn textures make them feel as if they have always been a part of your home.
Handmade over dyed wool rugs are one of the highest quality rugs available, however over-dyed area rugs also come in hardwearing polypropylene or mixes of natural and manmade fibres to enable easy cleaning and durable qualities that will extend the life of your beautiful over-dyed rug.
